This is the Xmas chunkies I am supposed to swap before 2009 arrived. However, I was too busy (as usual) and too slow to create these. Overall I am quite happy with the background effects that were made out of accident and no planning again! Every background is done on chipboard directly.

I used tissue papers for this background. Then I spray with Adirondack color wash (Lettuce, Butterscotch and a bit of Wild Plum) onto the background. I used Stickles to glitter the whole page and cut out a Xmas tree from a patterned papers and glitter on the little ornaments on the tree. Oh My! Tissue paper again! I simply love this technique, easy and fast.

I applied texture paste with credit card to create the texture on the base. Then I painted with acrylic paint, distressed with brown ink, cut out images and glitter onto this background. Love the effect!

In this red background and the blue background below, I did a gel medium ‘kissing’ technique for the base. Simply apply some gel medium randomly onto one chipboard and press the second chipboard against the first to ‘sandwich’ the gel medium. Pull the chipboard apart, there you will see some nice nice texture on the chipboard. Repeat the process if you want more texture in different location of the chipboard. For this chunky, I sprayed Wild Plum Adirondack color wash, distressed with walnut distress ink, splatter white paint with toothbrush, glitter, cut out the bird and bird cage image from a patterned paper. Ta Da! Done!

After the ‘kissing’ process stated above, I used old toothbrush to brush blue acrylic paint across the chipboard, distressed with blue distress ink, splattered white paint with toothbrush again, glitter with silver and blue stickle, cut out images from patterned papers and all done! Toothbrush as a paintbrush? Yap indeed…fun ya!
